* What to Look for in a Long Term Care Insurance Policy

March 2, 2007 · Print This Article

There are several things to look for in a long term care insurance policy. You will be able to make a better buying decision by researching and deciding which benefits you want.

We cover this subject pretty extensively on PrepSmart.com, but a short article on Hill’s Personal Finance blog tells the basics, too.

The article states that one of the six things to look for in a policy is linked benefits. For instance, you can get a long term care insurance policy that has life insurance attached. The article also projects that policies may be annuity based in the future.

Just be aware that in most cases, if there are linked benefits, the policy may be priced higher than stand alone long term care insurance policies and/or they may be lacking other benefits you might want more. As with anything, you get what you pay for. Extras will cost you one way or another.
